Introduction

This policy explains what happens to information when you visit The Knitted Co. website. We keep the collection narrow on purpose: this site publishes product information and links out to a retailer, so it needs very little about you.

Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information:

• Information you hand over, such as the name, email address and message you type into the contact form or the email field on the newsletter block.
• Information your browser reports automatically, such as approximate location by region, device type, browser version, referring page and the pages you open here.

We do not ask for payment details, and no card data ever reaches this site. Purchases happen on the retailer that fulfils the order.

How We Use It

Messages you send are used to answer you. Aggregate traffic figures are used to see which pages people actually read, so we know where to add sizing detail or care instructions.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent mailing lists to anyone.

Cookies and Analytics

This site sets a small number of cookies. One remembers whether you dismissed the cookie notice, so it stops reappearing on every page. Analytics cookies count visits and page views in aggregate.

Your browser settings control all of this. Blocking or deleting cookies keeps the site working; the notice will simply reappear on your next visit.

Third-Party Links and Affiliate Tracking

Product links carry an affiliate tag. When you follow one, the retailer may set its own cookie to attribute the visit. That retailer processes any data it collects under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

The same applies to social links in the footer and to any reference material we link out to.

Data Retention and Security

Contact-form messages are kept only as long as the conversation needs, then deleted. Aggregate analytics are retained in summary form.

We use standard technical measures to protect what we hold, though no website can promise perfect security over a public network.

Children's Privacy

This site is aimed at adults furnishing a home. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will remove it.

Your Choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Unsubscribing from the newsletter takes one click in the footer of any email we send.

Changes to This Policy

We update this page when practices change. The date at the top shows the current version, and material changes will be summarised in the opening paragraph.
